BT Hayes is a multi-disciplinary artist based in NYC.
Hayes graduated from Princeton University with a major in Comparative Literature, focusing on Spanish, German, and Portuguese literature. While at university, she also earned certificates in Theater, Music Theater, Translation, and Hellenic Studies. She is a proud alumna of the Princeton Triangle Club and Quipfire! Improv Comedy, where she studied sketch and improv comedy. As a multi-disciplinary, BIPOC artist, Hayes is excited to collaborate on new and exploratory work with rehearsal processes that lead with kindness and play — feel free to reach out!
In NYC, she has worked on one-off pop-ups, productions, cabarets, and more with New Georges & The Movement Theatre Company, St. Ann’s Warehouse, Kitchen Sink Theatre Co., In Confidence NYC, and The Oven Collective.
This past summer, Hayes participated in The 24 Plays: Nationals in the Playwrighting Cohort and premiered a ten-minute play titled My Titties Are Where I Keep the Horrors at Classic Stage Company. The next month, she took her original play, 13th Morning — a queer sequel to Twelfth Night, which she wrote and directed — to Edinburgh Fringe at Greenside Venues and appeared in the production as Viola.
Upcoming projects include acting as the Associate Director for Notch Theatre Company’s upcoming production, Cafe Utopia, opening this November at the Hudson Guild Theater.
